Master Giorgio Oscari began practising Aikido at the Doyukai Academy in Turin, together with his first Master Pino Gramendola, to whom he owes his gratitude for what he passed on to him.
1973
Modena
He began teaching as early as 1973 in Modena and also divulged Aikido in Parma, Ravenna, Cesena, Bologna and other cities.
He met and frequented many Japanese Masters teaching in Europe, such as M° N. Tamura, M° H.Tada, M° H. Kobayashi.
Encounter with master Saito and foundation of the aikido club
1984
In 1980 he founded the Aikido Club Modena, where hundreds of black belts were trained and then dedicated to teaching in important Italian centres. After meeting Master Morihiro Saito in 1985, he recognised in him the Way to follow.
From 1986 to 1992 he collaborated with the F.I.L.P.J. directing several National Workshops.
Iwama, Japan
1986
He travelled to Iwama in Japan more than twelve times, obtaining in 1991 the 5th dan in Takemusu Aiki Iwama Ryu ( Tai Jutsu ) and the 5th Mokuroku ( Bukiwaza Aikijo Aikiken ).
In August 1992, Saito Morihiro gave Giorgio Oscari permission to examine up to 3 Dan of Bukiwaza.
He invited Master Morihiro Saito to Italy in 1992 for a first Stage in Modena and then in Turin for the F.I.L.P.J. where over 200 students from nine different nations participated.
In 1997 he took over the technical direction of the F.E.S.I.K., creating the Aikido sector, under which more than 50 societies were united. In ten years, hundreds of teachers were graduated.
In 2002, Master Saito’s death left an unbridgeable void.
Modena
2007
In 2007 he founded A.T.A.G.O., continuing the divulgation of Takemusu Aiki as it was transmitted to him by his Master Morihiro Saito.
In 2016 is authorised by Doshu to award Aikikai grades to his students.
2020 Giorgio receives the rank of 6 dan from the Hombu dojo of Tokyo.
“When after forty years of practice i decided to create my own organisation it was a revelation to find that the acronym for Association Takemusu Aiki Giorgio Oscari was ATAGO.”
